Storyline
Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s visit to China this week has sent significant messages to the world, including the peoples of the two countries, according to Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang.
Widodo on Tuesday wrapped up his visit to China, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on a wide range of topics.
Speaking to the China Global Television Network (CGTN), Lu stressed the significance of the visit, as it sends important messages to the world.
“During the presidential discussion, the two leaders agreed that both sides, I mean, China and Indonesia, should strive for building a community with shared future. You know, that China and Indonesia ever since the year 2013, we have already become comprehensive strategic partners and this one definitely will give more impetus to our bilateral relationship,” said Lu.
“China and Indonesia, we are both very important developing countries, and we share a lot of common interests, a lot of common grounds in today’s world, so this is very important moment. After the meeting between Xi and Widodo, the two sides issued a Joint Press Statement on the Bilateral Meeting between President of the People’s Republic of China and President of the Republic of Indonesia. They also signed an MOU on jointly promoting cooperation between the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative and the Global Maritime Fulcrum, and other cooperation documents covering such areas as vaccines, green development, cyber security and oceans.
