Storyline
The ongoing China International Consumer Products Expo is showcasing exhibits from over 60 countries and regions, providing a visual feast to consumers at the international trade fair.
The six-day expo, which kicked off on Monday in Haikou, capital of south China’s Hainan Province, has a wide range of exhibits, from facial care, food and drinks, to electronics and even a cartoon-themed resort.
“This year we bring more than 30 Thai brands to exhibit at the Hainan Expo. They are the beauty and spa products as well as other lifestyle products. I will give you example, this one is the sleeping mask made from durian,” said Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou Commercial Consul Chen Liling.
“This year is our second time to participant in the expo. This year we have two Czech pavilions, one for Czech food and one for Czech crystal. We hope more Chinese consumers will come here and try Czech food and drinks,” said Ales Cervinka, director of Czech Trade Promotion Agency in China.
There is even a pavilion for sustainable consumption experience where cosmetics and bird’s nests are shown together, just for consumers to understand how to achieve sustainability in a product’s lifespan.
“Here, consumers can not only see and touch the products, but also learn how to achieve sustainability in the production and consumption of goods through the exhibits,” said Deng Mingwen, deputy editor-in-chief of the China Sustainability Tribune.
Healthcare company OSIM is exhibiting its gaming massage armchairs, aimed at the mass market of Chinese e-sports lovers.
“This year is OSIM’s second time to exhibit at the Hainan Consumer Products Expo. We are more than happy to have such a platform,” said Jiang Qin, marketing manager of OSIM China.
A Hello Kitty-themed resort made its debut at the expo. Following the world’s most popular cat cartoon image, more brands are showing their preferences to come to Hainan for its huge tourism market.
