China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to jointly build a more substantive and dynamic China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday during a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the Kazakh capital Astana.
Xi said he was pleased to meet with President Mirziyoyev and also delighted to see the expanding and flourishing cooperation between the two sides across various fields.
“China always regards Uzbekistan as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy. We are willing to work with Uzbekistan to build a more substantive and dynamic China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future,” Xi said.
Mirziyoyev called Xi a world-class statesman with farsighted strategic vision and underscored the key role China plays in international affairs.
“You have always prioritized high-quality development, which promoted China’s in-depth modernization process, ensured China’s sustainable social and economic development, and brought China’s leading position in global sci-tech innovation. And it is particularly necessary to emphasize the indispensable role China plays in solving major international affairs in today’s world,” Mirziyoyev told Xi.
Xi is in Astana to attend the second China-Central Asia Summit.
