“U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken openly said at a meeting today that the United States hopes all parties will abide by international law and uphold sovereignty and territorial integrity of every country. I don’t know if he said it at the press conference. But if he didn’t, I would like to repeat it for him, because we haven’t heard it from the U.S. for quite a long time. Just how many things the US has done to violate other countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity? It is good for the U.S. seeking to mend its ways, and we encourage it. But the key lies in walking the walk. First and foremost, the U.S. should fulfill the commitment on the Taiwan question, respect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, cease interfering in China’s internal affairs, and stop conniving at and supporting the ‘Taiwan independence’ forces.”

Storyline
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday called on the United States to walk the walk on respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, in the wake of Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi’s visit to China’s Taiwan region.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of meetings of foreign ministers on East Asian cooperation in Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh.
