Storyline
The green transformation in China has featured the industrial upgrading at factories that are using more environmentally friendly and more productive equipment.
In a new episode of China Media Group’s new documentary series “Snapshots of Modernization”, which tells stories about the changes in every aspect of the life of ordinary people, boiler operator Liu Junli shares his experience of the changes after his factory replaced old boilers with automated, cleaner and safer ones.
According to Liu, the old, imported boilers were fueled by wood shavings and would create a lot of ash, while the new ones are enclosed and use low-nitrogen burners.
The new boilers allow the factory to save energy, increase output and create a better working environment for its employees.
The upgrading of boilers has also turned Liu from a “black collar” worker to a “white collar.” His duties, including safety inspection, maintenance and record-keeping, are a lot easier now.
