Storyline
China’s foreign trade surplus hit a new monthly high in June and is on course of further enlarging in the rest of the year, latest data from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange showed on Friday.
Computed in the Chinese yuan, the manufacturing power posted a surplus of 399.4 billion yuan (59.2 billion U.S. dollars) in international goods and services trade combined in June, setting a new record high so far this year, the data showed.
From January to June, China’s international goods and services trade combined increased 12 percent year on year to 21,981.9 billion yuan (3,257.7 billion U.S. dollars), with a total trade surplus of 1,779.2 billion yuan (263.6 billion U.S. dollars) in the six month period, a 43 percent year-on-year growth.
