Storyline
Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a visit to Turpan City on Thursday afternoon during an inspection tour in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited Grape Valley, Xincheng Ximen Village in Gaochang District and Jiaohe Ruins, the world’s largest and best-preserved city relics of raw earth constructions, to learn about the city’s efforts to develop distinctive industries, boost rural revitalization, and preserve and use cultural heritage.
