Storyline
Aids from the Red Cross Society of China arrived in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on June 30.
The 16-ton supplies includes tents, folding beds and other items. In order to help the victims to tide over the difficulties, the Red Cross Society of China also provided cash assistance of 200,000 U.S. dollars to the Afghan Red Crescent Society.
A powerful earthquake struck southeastern Afghanistan on June 22. More than 1,000 people were killed, and thousands of others were injured. It was the deadliest earthquake hitting Afghanistan in 20 years.
After the earthquake, the Chinese government had provided a large amount of humanitarian aids to Afghanistan, which were transported via several Y-20 heavy transport aircraft.
